“Rīga”, consisting of Olympic champions Edgars Krūmiņš, Kārlis Pauls Lasmanis, Nauris Miezis and Agnis Čavars and which is the fourth seed, lost against “Vienna” from Austria (7th) with 17:21.
Lasmanis had seven points, Miezis had five points and four assists, Čavars had four points and six rebounds, while Krūmiņš had one point.
Štefan Stojačić scored eight points for his opponents, Matias Linortner scored seven and Quincy Diggs scored six.
After Lasmanis’s long throw, “Riga” gained a 4:1 lead, but after Stojacic’s penalty, the Austrian team was already ahead (5:4), and after two Stojacic long-range shots, he also got a 9:5 lead.
After Linortner’s free throw, the lead increased to 17:8 and the Latvians were unable to fight back.
