Ergin Ataman was taken to the hospital after Panathinaikos’ match with Peristeri (104-68). The Turkish coach of the “greens” felt unwell and left the OAKA to undergo tests, after he had a severe cough and sat down sick. His assistant, Christos Serelis, was the one who replaced Ataman at the press conference.
Panathinaikos won very easily and “licked the wounds” of the defeat by Olympiakos in Friday’s European derby. Lorenzo Brown scored 17 points, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis 16, Nan, Papapetrou from 12, Giurtseven 10 and Moraitis, Osman from 9. Kostas Sloukas was not used, while Matias Lessor played just 7 minutes and scored 4 points.
Papas was Peristeri’s top scorer with 12 points, while Poulianitis and Carberry added 9 each.
Marousi defeated Aris in Alexandreio with 72-74 (Adams 20, Radulitsa 15), after Vassilis Toliopoulos’ last shot (22 points) missed the target. The home match against Kolossos turned out to be quite an easy task for AEK: 86-75, with 15 points from Kuzminskas and 14 from Netzipoglou, Gray (Perantes 22).
PAOK suffered a heavy defeat in Lavrio 96-71 (Vaughn 16, Griffin 12, Gondikas 11 – Bartley 22). Olympiacos welcomes Prometheus on Sunday night in Faliro, while the curtain will be closed tomorrow Monday, with the Karditsa-Panioni match.
