Following its fourth victory against Philadelphia this Sunday night (106-110), Boston sweeps its opponent in the first round of the NBA play-offs and qualifies for the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference. Now, the Celtics normally await the defending champion Toronto in the next round for an opposition that may be much tighter.

Sad end of the season for the Sixers. This Sunday, in the Orlando bubble, Philadelphia once again did not stand up to Boston (106-110) and therefore came out through the back door. Back to the wall, after three defeats in the series, Joel Embiid’s teammates have yet started the meeting well at Walt Disney World Resort. In front after the first quarter (+5), Philly then saw the Celtics come back but was still ahead at the break by a small point (58-57). After an interesting start to the game, the Sixers were unable to compete against the green artificers. A scathing 32-19 back from the locker room, and here is Philadelphia on the ground. Deprived of Ben Simmons, the Pennsylvania franchise was unable to react and even saw the gap increase to +17 for Boston.
A “process” in the hard
If Brett Brown’s players finally returned to four lengths at the end of the game, the defeat and elimination in the 1st round of the NBA play-offs were there. After two semi-finals in a row, the “Process” praised by Embiid took a hit this Sunday evening and will have to ask the right questions before next season. For his part, the Cameroonian pivot does not have to be ashamed with his 30 points and 10 rebounds, but Kemba Walker (32 points), Jason Tatum (28 points and 15 rebounds) and their teammates were notably too strong in this series. After sending Philadelphia on vacation, Boston is therefore waiting for its opponent in the next round, which should be the Toronto Raptors (3-0 against the Brooklyn Nets). A duel that promises much more on paper compared to their respective appetizers to start these 2020 play-offs.
