Maxi Kleber won the duel against Franz and Moritz Wagner from the Orlando Magic in the North American professional basketball league NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.

The “Mavs” prevailed on Saturday (01/16/2022/local time) with 108:92 (55:43) and remain in impressive form. It was the Texans’ eighth win in nine games.

Mavericks again with Porzingis and coach Kidd

The “Mavs” were able to fall back on both Kristaps Porzingis and their head coach Jason Kidd, who had recently been in corona quarantine. For Porzingis it was the first game after a two-week break. With 19 points, he became the second-best scorer for Dallas behind superstar Luka Doncic (23 points). Maxi Kleber started again and got three points. At Orlando, Moritz Wagner was the Magic top scorer with 16 points, Franz Wagner scored six points.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter there was a brief argument between Doncic and Moritz Wagner. Wagner loudly celebrated the successful action of a teammate right in front of Doncic, Doncic then pushed the German center. Both received a technical foul for their action.

Schröder and Celtics win at home against Bulls

Dennis Schröder and the Boston Celtics celebrated a 114:112 (54:49) home win over the Chicago Bulls. After a previously weak performance against Philadelphia without a field goal, Schröder played strongly and scored 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The German national player also set accents in the final phase. The Celtics turned the game around in the last one and a half minutes with an 8-0 run.

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their worst loss of the season against the Denver Nuggets. The team around superstar LeBron James lost out with 96:133 (60:73). This leaves the Nuggets in sixth place ahead of the Lakers and thus a direct playoff spot. James led the Lakers with 25 points, with the Nuggets Nikola Jokic marking his eighth triple double of the season (17 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists).
