Basketball – “Mibala Tournament”: ISPM and DEGS out of control

The first edition of the interuniversity basketball tournament called “MibalaTournament” is in full swing at the Palais des Sports and at the Mahamasina indoor gymnasium. The 30 teams in the running started the third day of the qualifiers yesterday. Among the ladies, the ISPM team, organizer, is unbeatable. His players won against the formation of the MEDS on the score of 52 to 34 during the first day. Then they won the game against the DEGS team by the narrowest of margins 27 to 26 on the second day. Yesterday, the formation of the ISPM was still very dangerous by crushing that of CNTEMAD on the score 54 to 40. In the other meetings, the team of Medicine suffered two heavy defeats yesterday against the formation of the ESSCA by 55 to 26 and that of ESPA by 65 to 45 while IUM got the better of ESSCA after a hotly contested match. On the men’s side, the DEGS team was on display yesterday. It is the first team to have approached the bar of 100 points by beating the guys from ISCAM by 97 to 34. L’Etrangère and Aceem are to be followed closely after winning their match yesterday. “The organization is going as planned. The tournament had many surprises in the last three days. Participants take things seriously,” said Tantely Raboanary, tournament manager. The “Mibala tournament” is an event marking the celebration and the celebration of 30 years of ISPM. It is an opportunity for students from several universities in Madagascar to come together in a spirit of solidarity. The competition continues with the final round tomorrow. The grand final will be played on April 23 at the Palais des Sports. Various activities and entertainment will also be on the menu this Sunday, including the 3-point shooting contest, the dunk and the vertical jump.
