Basketball: Marine Fauthoux drafted by New York

A few hours after learning of her selection among the fourteen French players called to prepare for the summer Euro, the 20-year-old player (1.76m) trained in Pau Nord-Est then the US Orthez, had the enormous surprise, the last night, to see her name come out in the WNBA draft (the NBA women’s version). She was chosen 29th in the third round by the Liberty New York franchise, where her talented club teammate Marine Johannes is already playing.

The daughter of Fred Fauthoux, will not cross the Atlantic so far this summer. Under contract with ASVEL until 2025, Tony Parker’s club has decided to loan her for the next two seasons. And it is on the side of Basket Landes, in Mont-de-Marsan, that Marine should bounce back this summer at the end of the campaign with the Blue. Maybe she will decide to live the American experience one of the next summers.
