Lattes-Montpellier begins the Final 4 of the Women’s Basketball League, this Thursday, May 13 in Bourges. The Gazelles, in search of a double after their success in the Coupe de France, face the local Tango for a place in the final (8 p.m.).
The path to the Coupe de France title, gleaned almost three weeks ago at the AccorHotels Arena by the Gazelles, had already gone through Bourges. Victorious on the same Prado floor in March during the semi-finals of the event, the Héraultaises had signed a major performance of their season.

Less than two months later, it is a new semi-final that the two formations play: that of Final 4 of the Women’s Basketball League, at the end of which the new French champions will be appointed. On a format adapted to the health context, the four best teams of the season (Bourges, Lyon, Basket Landes and Lattes-Montpellier), after having gone through quarter-finals “round trip”, meet in the Prado hall of Bourges to compete for the title.
Full suspense
A semi-final and a final (this Saturday, May 15) on a dry match, enough to make all possible scenarios for a meeting that many consider to be “50-50”. For Bourges, the advantage of playing at home (but of course without an audience), and the certainties of an almost perfect regular season (20 wins in 22 games), completed in first place. For Lattes-Montpellier, the benchmark of the Cup semi-final and the advantage of playing as a team may be lacking in rhythm since the Berruyères played their last official meeting just a month ago.
Basket Landes first qualified for the final
Earlier in the day, the first semi-final of these LFB playoffs opposed Lyon ASVEL, second at the end of the regular season, to Basket Landes, third. And it was the Landes who created the sensation by leaving the Lionesses at the end of a successful performance (77-73). Céline Dumerc’s teammates, who led in the score throughout the match but had to resist ASVEL’s return in the last quarter, are therefore the first to qualify for the final on Saturday, May 15 (6.30 p.m.).
