The Qatari capital, Doha, hosted for 3 days the matches of Group E in the preliminary qualifiers for the FIBA Asia Cup in 2025.
The Iraqi team topped the ranking of Group E with 9 points, while the Qatar national team came in second place with 8 points, equal in number of points with the teams of Palestine and the UAE.
The Kuwait national team ranked fifth and the Oman national team ranked sixth.
After the second round, the teams of Iraq, Palestine, Qatar and the UAE secured qualification from Group E for the final qualifiers for the 2025 Asian Cup.
The preliminary qualifiers were played in two rounds, with the participation of 18 teams, so that 8 teams qualified for the main qualifiers, to join the 16 teams that secured qualification after they competed in the 2022 AFC Asian Cup.
