The 15th edition of the Golfe Trophy was held this weekend, August 31 and September 1, at the Kercado sports hall in Vannes. The event, organized by the basketball section of UCK-Nef Vannes, attracted many basketball fans who came to watch high-level matches.
From Saturday, the parquet floor of the Kercado hall vibrated to the rhythm of dribbling and baskets. Cholet, Le Mans, Bourg-en-Bresse, and Nanterre, with its silver medalist in 3×3 at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Lucas Dussoulier, offered a high-quality show to a large crowd. More than 800 spectators attended the semi-finals. In an intense first match, Nanterre beat Cholet 90 to 86. Then, Bourg-en-Bresse dominated Le Mans with a score of 89 to 66, thus securing their place in the final.
Sunday began with the third-place play-off between Le Mans and Cholet. In a tight match, Le Mans came out on top, winning 82 to 76. The highly anticipated grand finale then pitted Nanterre against Bourg-en-Bresse. Despite the presence of Lucas Dussoulier, Bourg-en-Bresse triumphed with a score of 91 to 78, thus winning the 2024 Golf Trophy.
The event was also marked by the presence of several personalities from French basketball. Antoine Rigaudeau, Olympic vice-champion in Sydney in 2000, was present among the spectators, giving his support to the players. Valériane Ayayi, double Olympic medalist with the French team (bronze in 2020 and silver this summer in Paris), also came to watch the matches to encourage her brothers, Gérald Ayayi (Cholet) and Joël Ayayi (Bourg-en-Bresse).
