The German basketball champion Alba Berlin has reached the next intermediate goal in his hunt through his flood of Bundesliga catch-up games.
Coach Israel Gonzalez’s team celebrated their third point game victory within six days against play-off rivals ratiopharm Ulm with 78:73 (43:42) and has already moved up to third place.
Berlin hopes to lead the table
With 40:12 points, Berlin still has good prospects of leading the table behind leaders Telekom Baskets Bonn (46:14) and former cup winners Bayern Munich (42:14) despite its difficult program after several forced Corona breaks. Ulm’s hopes of a place in the top quartet after the main round were dampened by the second league defeat in the last three games.
Berlin’s most successful thrower was national player Maodo Lo with 15 points. In Ulm’s team, Sindarius Thornwell stood out with 20 points.
