The 32-year-old collapsed to the ground during Dierre Reggio-Fortitudo Messina: taken to hospital, he didn’t make it
Haitem Jabeur Fathallah, 32 years old from Fortitudo Messina, And died to the hospital of Reggio Calabria where he had been taken for a sickness that had hit him during the match against Dierre Reggio, valid for the championship of Serie C Gold of basketball. Fathallah had collapsed to the ground losing consciousness: the game was immediately suspended to help the basketball player, taken by ambulance to the hospital where he died shortly after admission.

After Fathallah collapsed, I am also some doctors who attended the race from the stands intervened and who have unsuccessfully tried to revive the player. The doctors, after realizing the gravity of the situation, asked for the intervention of an ambulance equipped for resuscitation.
The player, after the illness that hit him and during the transport to the hospital, has always remained unconscious. Fathallah boasted over 250 appearances in senior basketball championships. Born in Agrigento, after playing with Porto Empedocle, Racalmuto and Licata, he arrived in Messina in the 2016/2017 season, playing first in the Basket School and later in the Fortitudo Messina.
