Basilicata: five unpresentable for the Regionals

There are five “unpresentable” candidates – three in the centre-right and two in the centre-left – for the regional elections scheduled in Basilicata on 21 and 22 April. It is the result of the checks carried out by the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission on the violation of the self-regulation code. The unpresentable are Angelo Antenori (Lucanian pride), Vincenzo Clemente (UDC-DC with Rotondi-Popolari Uniti), Francesco Piro (Forza Italia) in the centre-right; Lucio Libonati e Livio Valvano, both candidates with the Avs-Si-Psi list. Among the unpresentable, Piro is an outgoing regional councilor.

For Antenori “the trial has been ordered by decree of the investigating judge at the court of Potenza (debate in progress) for corruption for an act contrary to official duties”. According to Clemente, “with a decree of the investigating judge at the Potenza court, the trial was ordered (trial underway) for corruption for an act contrary to official duties”. For Piro, “by decree of the investigating judge at the court of Lagonegro (Potenza) the trial was ordered (debate underway) for self-laundering”.

For Libonati, “with a decree of the investigating judge at the court of Potenza, the trial was ordered (trial in progress) for complicity in unauthorized access to a computer or telematic system”.
