The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Representative Gebran Bassil, told Al-Nihaya, “We did not agree with the Future Movement, and if we agreed, we would have avoided many things. When we reached an understanding with Hezbollah, I was in discussion with Muhammad Shatah to make an agreement with the Future Movement.”
The head of the Future Movement, Saad Hariri, confirmed to “The End” that “in 2006, French President Jacques Chirac summoned me to France and told me to tell Hezbollah that this is a dangerous stage and that Olmert will destroy Lebanon.”
Hariri added, “This message was conveyed to the Secretary General of Hezbollah during the dialogue sessions.”
