Basel – man depressed in the middle of a posh district

On Friday evening, a man was attacked and the victim of an attempted robbery on the Bruderholz hill in Basel. As a result, the 45-year-old was injured and admitted to the emergency room by the paramedics, as the Basel public prosecutor announced.

The investigations by the criminal police showed that the victim walked from the Bruderholz school building along Daniel Fechter-Promenade at 7:30 p.m. Suddenly the man was attacked by a stranger and hit with an unknown object. He suffered significant injuries as a result. The perpetrator then tried to steal the victim’s wallet, but he was unsuccessful and fled.

After the unsuccessful robbery, the perpetrator fled in an unknown direction. An immediate search by the police was unsuccessful. According to the victim, the suspect was a small, slim man wearing a black cap and possibly a backpack. Anyone who can provide relevant information is asked to contact the police.
