Seven years ago, the pretty movie came out in the cinema Pride, which tells a funny story: one day in 1984, twenty-seven gay activists arrived in a remote village in Wales, Onllwyn, to hand over the money they had collected in London to striking miners in London to support their arm of iron against Margaret Thatcher, then Prime Minister. An unprecedented example of what we should call today the convergence of struggles.

In this case, that of Mark Ashton, a communist and homosexual activist, then aged 24, who had the idea of uniting the forces of two communities which seemed to have little in common. If the miners of Onllwyn ended up giving in, exhausted, to the government of Thatcher, the continuation of their adventure with the friends of Mark Ashton is exemplary.
