Australian tennis Ashleigh Barty successful win Wimbledon 2021. The world stage one won a duel of three sets of opponents Karolina Pliskova 6-3, 6-7, and 6-3.
Women’s singles final Wimbledon 2021 took place at Center Court, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Saturday (10/7/2021) evening WIB. Barty started well by winning the first 14 points to take the first set comfortably.
Karolina Pliskova bounced back in the second set, relying on strong serves and keeping chances. But a number of mistakes made the Czech Republic’s momentum lost and Ashleigh Barty ensure his victory.
This is the first Wimbledon title for Barty, as well as the second Grand Slam title of his career. The 25-year-old athlete previously won the French Open in 2019.
Barty also ended an Australian women’s title drought at Wimbledon. She is the first woman to win the tournament in 41 years, since Evonne Goolagong Cawley won in 1980.
“This is amazing. I have to thank everyone in this stadium. You guys made this dream of mine so special,” he told the crowd in the arena, as reported by BBC.
Karolina Pliskova is the eighth seed in this tournament. This defeat made the world number 13 tennis player again have to wait for his first Grand Slam title.
