How did the idea to make the film Adored come about?
“The film is partly inspired by the story of my grandfather, his personality, the aura he spread around him. It was a little known in the small town where my grandfather lived. He worked as a pediatrician in Police nad Metují, just like our hero Zdeněk. “I didn’t know Jiří at all and I was a little afraid to call him, I knew he didn’t want to spin much anymore and I thought it was bold … But I decided, he wanted me to send it to him, then we would go for a beer, and he quite liked it. I rewrote the other half after a discussion with him and Ivana Chýlková, so they actually helped me with that. Langoš and I are really close friends after all, Petra and Zuzana didn’t have a problem with that either, we found Martina Czyžová, who plays a young granddaughter, and that was it. “
Did you shoot during a pandemic, did it affect the work on the film in any way?
“Quite significantly, because Zuzana Kronerová fell ill with coronavirus during filming, so everything stopped and moved for a month. Fortunately, we managed to get through the commitments of everyone else so that it could be done. “
