The players of Barcelona will carry the Canadian rapper’s owl logo Drake on their shirts during their visit to the real Madrid Sunday in the first Clásico of the season in the Spanish league.
Barcelona announced on Friday that they will change the logo of their new Spotify sponsor for the Grammy-winning artist’s owl emblem.
“Spotify is giving this privileged space on the game jersey, as part of an action that is part of the partnership with the Club and which is part of the activities that will be carried out within the alliance of both brands to offer experiences innovative for football fans and at the same time helping to reach new audiences through music, ”Barcelona said in a statement on Friday.
Barcelona and Spotify agreed on a 12-year partnership last season that includes the rights to the Camp Nou name and the name of the streaming service on the shirts of Barcelona’s men’s and women’s teams. Spanish media reported that the deal is worth 400 million euros (389 million dollars).
“This type of change on the front of the shirt is expected to occur on multiple occasions during the season,” added the Catalan club.
Barcelona have the advantage Madrid top of the league table for goal difference.
