During this weekend, the district administration enabled two points to carry out vaccination with the doses of Pfizer for pregnant or lactating women and those who require the second dose of the biological to complete their vaccination schedule.

The day began this Saturday, July 24 and It will remain active during this Sunday, however, due to the shortage of the vaccine, it can only be maintained until stocks are exhausted, so there will be a limited number of people who can be immunized.

This is due to the fact that according to the district administration, there are limited stocks of the Pfizer vaccine and, in addition, Saturday’s session was widely welcomed by people who attended both the Compensar headquarters on av. 68 as those who have gone to the Corferias center.

During the day yesterday, pregnant women were immunized from week 12 of pregnancy and up to 40 days after delivery with the biological Pfizer at the Jubileo de Compensar point, in Corferias second doses of the same brand were applied for 12 continuous hours”, Reported the administration.

The district Health Secretariat invited pregnant women who have not been scheduled at another vaccination point or have not been able to go to this point, come to Compensar de la av. 68 for the application of the biological or through the points provided by the EPS. “On the other hand, women without insurance may receive their first dose in any of the 4 coliseums operated by the Health Services Subnets: Tibabuyes, Molinos, Cayetano Cañizares and Tunal”They added.

The day is aimed at pregnant or lactating women, from the third month of pregnancy and up to 40 days postpartum, who can go to Compensar de la av. 68to receive the Pfizer vaccine regardless of the EPS to which they belong, during this Sunday.

Likewise, those who require a second dose to complete the Pfizer vaccine schedule may do so. They must go to Corferias, with a certificate, a vaccination card for the first dose and be over 21 from that first application. The drug may not be accessible to everyone because of the limited number of doses that remain available.

The Ministry of Health is still waiting for about 150 thousand vaccines from the Pfizer laboratory, to complete the vaccination schedules for all the people who have already received the first dose and will continue to carry out massive vaccination days as the biologicals arrive, ”said the Ministry of Health through a statement.

This Saturday the presence of the Delta variant of covid-19 was confirmed that some studies, for example of the Imperial College London, have determined that it can be 60% more contagious, so it could cause new spikes of contagion.

But nevertheless, All available vaccines are effective in preventing complications or death from covid-19 and have shown efficacy compared to the new variant. For this reason, the authorities have invited those over 30 years of age to attend the vaccination points to advance with immunization in the country.

Getting vaccinated is what protects our lives the most, nothing protects us more from covid-19 than the vaccine and it must be said that all organic brands are safe and effective. Anyone over 30 years of age in Bogotá can go to any of the vaccination points in the city, without an appointment and with their identification card to receive their first dose, ”said the mayor.
