Bareskrim Plans to Examine the Families of 6 Late Sympathizers Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Bareskrim Polri investigators plan to examine the families of the six members of the Islamic Defenders Front ( REIT) who was shot dead by police during the clash at the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road.

Six members of the armed forces guarding the FPI leader Rizieq Shihab he was shot for allegedly attacking members of the Polda Metro Jaya in an incident that occurred on Monday (7/12/2020) in the morning.

Andi said investigators would send a summons for examination today.

“Today’s investigators will send a summons to the family of six MRS guards who attacked Polri members,” said Andi.

This case was previously handled by Polda Metro Jaya and is now being taken over by the Police Headquarters. One of the reasons is the location of the incident in Karawang, West Java.

The interim findings of the investigators include the presence of firearms and sharp weapons at the scene, damage to the officer’s car, and evidence of the use of firearms by members of Rizieq’s escort.

Bareskrim promised to carry out professional and objective investigations, as well as provide opportunities for external parties to provide input.

Regarding this clash, there are differences in information between the police and the FPI.

The police said that the car of a member of the Polda Metro Jaya who was carrying out the tailing was stopped by the vehicle carrying the guard of FPI leader Rizieq Shihab.

The prosecution was carried out in the context of investigating the information in the short message application about mass mobilization to guard Rizieq’s examination on Monday (7/12/2020).

After the vehicles of members of Polda Metro Jaya were stopped, a shootout broke out. The police claimed that members of Rizieq’s bodyguard opened fire first at the police.

FPI also denied that members of the laskar attacked and shot the police first. According to FPI, members of the laskar are not equipped with firearms.
