Fabiana Rocha, from Viana do Castelo, shows her face for the movement that intends to see the tattoo and body piercing studios reopened (see here), not included by the Government in this last lot of commerce with authorization to open from this Monday, during the State of Calamity.
After consulting the government decree, it is possible to verify that this type of studios are not mentioned among those that open until June 1st, thus being forbidden to open for an uncertain term.
The tattoo artist, with a studio in the parish of Darque, regrets the “forgetfulness” or “prejudice” that her professional colleagues say they are vetoed, when the Council of Ministers decided to catalog the studios on the same level as a spa or a spas. He also published a video on social networks that has about 20 thousand views (see here).
“In the tattoo studios, all the hygiene standards that the other establishments are now adopting were already fulfilled”, said the professional to O MINHO, adding that “it will only be necessary to put protective acrylics and the use of visors”.
“We have stores closed and we have to pay everything as if they were open. We have our private lives, we paid rent or a house loan, many of us have children, what are we going to live on? Let us work, we are desperate ”, he warns.
Fabiana confesses that there was already a need to dispose of goods in order to continue paying the rent for her store, and that this is transversal to several colleagues who are raising their voices through groups on social networks
“We launched a manifesto, among the 600 professional tattoo artists in the country, but only in Madeira did we obtain authorization to work, while on the continent we remained prohibited”, he adds.
“What will we do now? Sitting on the couch watching our family go hungry? Thank you for forgetting a mere profession. Although 600, we paid all taxes ”, he concludes.
The tattoo artist also asks all customers to make videos asking for the opening of stores, sending it to the Facebook group of the manifest.
Portugal entered on May 3 in a calamity situation due to the pandemic, after three consecutive periods in a state of emergency since March 19.
The list of services that remain closed for an uncertain period includes municipal spas, spas, swimming pools, casinos or bingos. There is no reference to tattoo or body piercing studios.
This new phase of combating covid-19 provides for mandatory confinement for sick people and under active surveillance, the general duty of home collection and the mandatory use of masks or visors in public transport, public attendance services, schools and commercial establishments.
The Government approved on Friday new measures that come into force today, including the resumption of visits to the users of nursing homes, the reopening of daycare centers, face-to-face classes for the 11th and 12th year and the reopening of some street shops, cafes, restaurants, museums, monuments and palaces.
