And although the fans of the “Pride of Catalonia” were preoccupied with the transfer of Wojciech Szczęsny that day, they could not forget about the match of the 7th round of La Liga, in which their beloved Barcelona hosted a team from the suburbs of Madrid – Getafe. Hansi Flick’s team came out on top in this match and defeated the visitors 1-0. Robert Lewandowski scored the winning goal.
An inconspicuous but effective start
Everyone gathered at Estadio Monjuic that evening expected a strong start from FC Barcelona, which would reap its rewards in the form of a quickly scored goal. In hindsight, the previous sentence can easily be treated as true, but only half of it. In the first minutes of the match, unexpectedly, the Getafe players played without any complexes and created harmless, but still dangerous, situations in front of the goal guarded by Iniaki Pena. The best of these chances was definitely the one from Carles Perez. The Spaniard headed the ball into the middle of the goal, but his lack of concentration meant that the Barcelona goalkeeper intervened right on the goal line.
After this situation, Hansi Flick’s players survived cold shower effect and they immediately started attacking. “Blaugrana” on fire, pushing the opponent into deep defense and creating better and better situations – such a mix was bound to end with a goal sooner or later. Satisfaction was achieved exactly in the nineteenth minute, when Jules Kounde’s cross was accidentally deflected by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria. In all the chaos, Robert Lewandowski was the one who found the best result: he first won the ball, and after a while he took a shot and celebrated the goal to make it 1-0. As a curiosity, it is worth adding that this goal was the Pole’s first goal against the “Azulones” team.

After scoring the goal, in line with the spirit and idea of Hansi Flick, the FC Barcelona players did not think about stopping for a moment. The next chances were created by the wingers – Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. The visiting defenders especially couldn’t cope with the 17-year-old, whom they were forced to foul. Lewandowski also had his opportunity, wasting a one-on-one situation with Soria.
Sisyphean work
The second half of the match was definitely not the most attractive. The game took place rather in the middle of the field, and any offensive actions by both teams resulted from chance rather than careful planning. The exception to the rule, however, was the character of Lamine Yamal, who He showed off great dribbling several timesand also a shot on goal by David Soria, which went almost into the goal window. Ultimately, the visiting goalkeeper managed to parry the ball over the net with the tip of his fingers.
The “Pride of Catalonia” posed a long-distance threat for long periods, as Raphinha and Pablo Torre also tried from outside the penalty area. However, none of these shots ended up in the Getafe goal.
Polish fans also experienced a moment of horror, as Robert Lewandowski writhed in pain in his ribs for a long time.. The striker collided with the rival goalkeeper, who accidentally kicked him. After a while, the scorer of the goal to make it 1-0 got up and continued the game without any problems. Ultimately, Hansi Flick decided that there was no point in straining Lewandowski, so the Pole left the field in the 76th minute. He was then replaced by Pedri.

Teacher
After the match against Getafe, some FC Barcelona players deserved special mention. One of them is definitely the right defender – Jules Kounde, who definitely had his best performance in the season that has been going on for over a month. The Frenchman looked great both in defense and attack, something he had problems with in the past. As if that was not enough, in some situations Kounde “worked hard for two” and corrected the mistakes of his teammates – headed by Inigo Martinez, who played a rather poor game.
The right-back should also receive virtual applause from FC Barcelona fans from all over the world for his offensive play. It is worth recalling that it was Kounde who assisted Lewandowski’s goal. In addition, the Frenchman often attacked and inevitably created a numerical advantage for the “Pride of Catalonia”.
Barcelona fans need to do more PR for Kounde.

Barcelona is still on top
After the seventh series of games in the Spanish La Liga, FC Barcelona remains in first place. The advantage over second place Real Madrid is as many as four points, which at such an early stage is a very good result. Now the Blaugrana’s schedule will become more and more tight. On Saturday, September 28, Hansi Flick’s players will face Osasuna Pamplona, and three days later – on Tuesday – the Swiss Young Boys will face the “Pride of Catalonia” in the Champions League.
