Superstar Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona has praised Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid in the highest tones. The Argentine called the Slovenes at Bud Sports as “one of the best goalkeepers in the world”.
“It’s nice to play against him,” said Messi. “He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world. And it’s always nice to play against the best,” he added.
Messi: Games against Oblak “extra motivation”
Oblak recently became the goalkeeper fastest to hit 100 clean sheets in LaLiga. The Atletico goalkeeper only needed 182 duels to reach this milestone.
In the current season Atletico only conceded five goals in 13 games, Oblak played nine times to zero. “It’s an extra motivation to try to score against him because it’s really difficult. He proves that in every game,” said Messi of Oblak.
