Barcelona still trying to extend the contract Lionel Messi in this summer. But there is an opinion that La Pulga should be let go, and the Blaugrana are focusing on young players.
This was conveyed by the former Barcelona presidential candidate, Toni Freixa. She was Joan Laporta’s competitor in the general election in March, but lost.
Even so, Freixa still sees Barcelona’s development from the outside, including problems related to Messi’s new contract. He also took a realistic attitude about this.
The 52-year-old man suggested that Messi released, and started a new life with the existing young players, such as Pedri et al. For Freixa, they will be the focus of Barcelona in the future.
“Supporters Barcelona seems to worry too much about Messi. He’s the best player in history, no one doubts him. But he is 34 years old,” wrote Ash on social media.
“The future of the club lies in the hands of Pedri, (Frenkie) de Jong, Ansu (Fati), Eric Garcia and the other players who have arrived. Barca is always bigger than any player,” he concluded.
Barcelona it’s been difficult to build a team this summer. The debt that has accumulated has made them limited to the player’s salary budget, which is around 382 million Euros only.
The restriction raises at least two problems. First, there is no room for salary allocation Messi, whose contract expired last June. If you want to extend the Argentine captain’s contract, Barca must release several players, especially those with high salaries.
Second, new players such as Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero could not be registered. Again, releasing old players who are not included in the club’s plans must be done.
