The mid-year break serves the teams to present their new kits for the following season. This Friday was the turn of the Barcelona Soccer Club, which unveiled its 2022/2023 home jersey with several new features.
The first is your sponsor. The culé team left behind the Rakuten company as a central sponsor to give way to Spotify. The streaming music platform signed a millionaire agreement (280 million dollars for three seasons), which includes adding his name to Camp Nou.
The other thing that stands out is its design. Inspired by the Barcelona Olympics 1992, the concept is of the “Olympic flame” on the shirt. It is also reminiscent of the one used in the 2003-2004 season, with a darker shade of blue on the shoulders and arms, which is added as a “third bar” in the center of the shirt.

“The campaign for the presentation of the shirt has also wanted to provide this spirit of Barcelona 92 and for this reason, in the different graphic elements, a commitment has been made to use a typeface that evokes the one used then and to include the different messages in the four languages with which the posters were worked 30 years ago: Catalan, Spanish, French and English”, maintains the club.

Does de Jong stay?
Despite rumors of a possible departure to Manchester Unitedthe Dutch steering wheel Frenkie de Jong was one of those chosen to present the new kit. Clubs often use figures who will be wearing that shirt that season and this could indicate Barcelona’s intention to keep former Ajax at the Camp Nou.
Another player featured in the new kit promo is Sergiño Dest. The American winger also appears as a possible departure from the club – which maintains its financial problems – with Chelsea, Leeds and Tottenham as the main destinations.
