FC Barcelona are looking to swap Miralem Pjanić for Chelsea’s Jorginho or Juventus’ Rodrigo Bentancur, according to Diario SPORT reports.
The Bosnian himself arrived via a swap deal that sent Arthur to Juve. The deal was widely viewed as a financial move to help both clubs by adding a sale to their books.
Pjanić was screened as a starter or at least a player who would be in the mix to play heavy minutes under Ronald Koeman. But that did not happen. Instead, it slowly lost its notoriety. When Sergio Busquets was injured in a potentially decisive game against Atlético Madrid, 18-year-old Ilaix Moriba was introduced – not Pjanić. Indeed, the Bosnian has never seen the field.
For this reason, it’s understandable that the Catalans are looking for a new home for Pjanić.
One option is a return to Juventus, where he made his mark as a key player in Turin. The report says there is an “open dialogue” between the two clubs to see if a trade is possible.
Pjanić has not played since March, in contrast, Bentancur, 23, is a regular starter for Juve. It seems implausible that Juventus would accept the swap directly and could ask for additional fees in order to seal the deal.
One option FC Barcelona would like is to get Jorginho from Chelsea. The midfielder has been a key part of the Blues’ rebirth under Thomas Tuchel, however, and it seems unlikely that they will part ways with him unless the Catalans have added a lot of money to soften the deal. . The report does not indicate that there has been a conversation between the clubs here, only that the cules are excited about the idea.
The last option is Inter Milan. Apparently the Serie A champions are looking to import another Camp Nou veteran, as they have done with good success in the case of Arturo Vidal. Inter should offer a player to exchange,
However, looking at the Transfermarkt data tells us that the player with the valuation closest to that of the Bosnian is Christian Eriksen.
