Despite its exhausted economy, with debts exceeding one billion dollars, Barcelona included a distinguished group of illustrious players, namely Rafinha (58 million euros from Leeds United), Conde (50 million euros from Seville), Lewandowski (45 million euros from Bayern Munich) and Casey (Free – Milan) and Christensen (Chelsea) and renewed Ousmane Dembele’s contract and restored Miralem Pjanic from loan.
However, it was not Barcelona that invested the largest amount of money during the transfer market, which has not yet closed, as it decided to strengthen Chelsea to strengthen its ranks to the fullest, and fought contracts carefully with the Catalan club, spending about 186.59 million euros.
Chelsea included Cucurella (65.3 million euros from Brighton), Raheem Sterling (56.2 million euros from Manchester City), Koulibaly (38 million euros from Napoli), Chuquimica (18 million euros from Aston Villa) and Slonina (9.09 million euros from Chicago Fire).
