Barcelona had loosened up, before returning to winning ways when silencing Atletico Madrid. The victory proves Barca is still fine.
Barcelona narrowly won 1-0 over Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou, Sunday (23/4/2023) yesterday. Ferran Torres’ goal was the only difference between the two teams.
That narrow victory was enough to break the series of three games without a win that Barcelona had previously gone through. They previously lost 4-0 to Real Madrid at Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey, then drew against Girona and Getafe in LaLiga.
Silencing Atletico is Barcelona’s best way to prove they haven’t run out of gas. Especially considering that Atletico also ran tough before losing to Barca.
“They have gone on without defeat in 13 matches, one of the fittest teams in LaLiga. It was a match to confirm that we are doing well and we want to win this league and it is reflected on the pitch,” Ferran Torres was quoted as saying Sport.
Atletico string 13 matches without defeat in LaLiga, picking up 10 wins and three draws. Furthermore, it will be Barcelona’s turn to be tested by Rayo Vallecano, Thursday (27/4) in the morning WIB.
“Wednesday’s match (local time) is another final, another very tough match. We have to think from match to match, because football has many twists and turns. But we are on the right track,” added Torres.
