Madrid –
Barcelona asked not to dream first to buy Erling Haaland. Los Cules’ finances, which are still bloody, are the cause.
At a time when Real Madrid was fast, it was rumored to be bringing in Kylian Mbappe next summer, Barcelona also did not want to lose. They were reportedly after Erling Haaland.
Haaland is projected to be a young Barcelona star under Xavi Hernandez. Reportedly the club in this case President Joan Laporta has met Haaland’s father, Alf Inge, and his agent Mino Raiola.
Talks are said to have entered a serious stage regarding the possibility of Haaland moving to Camp Nou. However, Laporta recently denied the news while ensuring his club would not pursue Haaland.
The club’s financial condition which is still “sick” is the reason why Barcelona put the brakes on spending on star players this summer. Moreover, LaLiga has warned the Catalans that they cannot bring in Haaland or players of his level.
Because, in the latest club financial report announced by LaLiga, Monday (14/3/2022), Barcelona is the only team in Spain’s top two divisions whose salary cap is minus, which is 144 million euros or around Rp. 2.2 trillion. !
Because, Barcelona spent 242 million euros more than their Salary Cap limit of 98 million euros Rp 1.5 T, almost three times that.
Meanwhile, to bring Erling HaalandBarcelona and interested clubs reportedly have to spend a total of around 350 million euros or Rp. 5.5 trillion, including transfer fees, agent commissions and contracts.
“To bring in players, Barcelona must be able to reduce their current expenses or get more income. That’s the only way,” said the General Director LaLiga Javier Gomez as reported ESPN.
“Barcelona’s losses are greater than their income. That’s why they have exceeded the transfer limit, aka negative,” he continued.
