In Madrid, Atlético took advantage of Dortmund’s big defensive mistake and took the lead in the 4th minute through the Argentinian world champion Rodrigo de Paul, and half an hour later Lino found the back of the net after Antoine Griezmann’s masterful pass.
The visiting German team improved in the 81st minute thanks to Sebastian Haller, opening up the duel.
He could have evened the score a few moments before the final whistle, but Julian Brandt’s header hit the crossbar.
The rematch of the duels will be held next Tuesday.
