Nothing prevents the transfer of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich to Barcelona. According to the SID agency, the clubs have concluded an agreement and the German team should receive 50 million euros (about 1.23 billion crowns) for the Polish footballer. This morning, the seven-time top scorer in the Bundesliga completed his last training session with Bayern and then said goodbye.
The clubs should officially confirm the transfer in the near future. The 33-year-old Lewandowski, who had a contract with Bayern until the end of the upcoming season, will sign a contract with Barcelona for three or four years.
Lewandowski leaves Bayern after eight years, during which he won eight German titles with him and added a Champions League triumph in the 2019/20 season. He also had stints in Dortmund and Poznań.
Last season he scored 50 goals in 46 competitive matches. He scored a total of 344 goals in 374 games for Bayern and broke several records of the legendary striker Gerd Müller. He will go to Barcelona today and then on Sunday with the team on a tour to the USA.
The transfer of the Polish gunner is also considered a done deal by the Spanish media. “After Messi’s departure, there was a big gap, but it will be filled again today,” wrote the newspaper Sport.
