The personnel Ruben Neves has long been located in the orbit of FC Barcelona. With the price tag that has now been put on the midfield star, a transfer seems out of reach.
Jorge Mendes is currently negotiating with his two favorite clubs about the transfer of Ruben Neves (26). On the one hand there are Wolverhampton Wanderers as the releasing club, on the other hand FC Barcelona as a potentially absorbing club.
According to the Telegraph, Wolves are signaling a willingness to sell Neves given his one-year contract. In the context of this, the English first division team can neither be convinced by an exchange transaction nor by an offered player plus sum X.
Neves is said to cost a transfer fee of 50 million euros
In Wolverhampton they only want to see cash, the transfer fee should be at least 50 million euros. Under the current financial circumstances, which Barça somehow has to deal with, that should be one or several shelves too high.

“This club gave me everything, so it doesn’t matter what happens, I will always stay with this club,” Neves replied earlier this month, while football-romantic but now considered platitude, when asked about his future .
After the now officially confirmed departure of Sergio Busquets, Barça is looking for a six. Other clubs are of course aware of the Blaugrana’s catastrophic economic situation and therefore set the price accordingly. The Neves issue has probably been settled, especially since coach Xavi is said to prefer other transfer targets (Sofyan Amrabat, Martín Zubimendi) for central midfield anyway.
