FC Barcelona are working flat out to reinstate Lionel Messi. There are not many who have something to oppose the football-romantic reunion. Mario Kempes belongs to this faction.
Mario Kempes isn’t really convinced by the planned scenario of Lionel Messi returning to FC Barcelona shirt next season.
“I don’t think it’s healthy for him to come back to Barcelona,” Kempes told Mundo Deportivo. “It would be better for him to stay in France so he can go to the next World Cup in peace. He should stay there. Barcelona have other goals, they are still building up after his departure. There are a lot of problems there. “
There are a lot of problems, especially with being able to put Messi’s return into action at all. Until then, Barça will have to ease their salary budget by 200 million euros and use more of the now famous financial levers to be able to embrace the superstar again.
