FC Barcelona Femení cleared up the doubts sown in the last two games, where Jonatan Giráldez’s men had struggled to defeat Roma and Real Madrid (both games 1-0). On Wednesday, the culés achieved a win against the ‘giallorossi’ team for the return of the quarterfinals of the Womens Champions League (5-1) in a Spotify Camp Nou that, once again, responded with a record capacity for women’s football .
A total of 54,667 spectators attended the blaugrana exhibition in the culé temple, being the third best entry recorded in Barça Femení matches. Last year, also for the Champions League against Wolfburg, 91,648 fans filled the Camp Nou during the semifinals (a 5-1 win for the locals). Previously, in the quarterfinals, the capacity was 91,553 spectators in the Clásico against Madrid (5-2).

Another record had already been set in the group stage
This has not been the only attendance record achieved this year in the highest European competition. 46,967 fans attended the Camp Nou Spotify to welcome Giráldez’s team against Bayern Munich, game that the culés resolved 3-0 against a tough Bavarian team that already said goodbye to the tournament after losing to Arsenal (2-1 overall). This is the highest capacity recorded in a group stage match in the Women’s Champions League.
Against Swedish Rosengard (6-0 win), 28,720 fans accompanied Barça Women in the Estadio Johan Cruyff during the last day of Group D. The culés needed to win to ensure leadership and the fans supported the Catalans to close the group stage. In the semifinals, another good start at the Camp Nou is expected to boost the Blaugrana team on their way to a new European final, the third in a row.
Chelsea or Lyon, Barça’s rivals in the semis
After the win against Roma, FC Barcelona waits for Olympique Lyon or Chelsea in the semifinals. The English gave the surprise last week with a victory in France against the reigning champions (0-1) and this Thursday they will receive a Lyon that is looking for its ninth European Cup this year. If the galas manage to come back, the final of last season in Turin will be reissued, with a 3-1 victory for Olympique.
