These three clubs are the only ones to exceed one hundred million euros in television rights revenue. The next in the ranking is Valencia, which reached 82.2 million euros, followed by Sevilla who received 78.9 million euros. Osasuna, Valladolid and Granada (47.1 million euros) close the ranking of television income among the clubs of the Spanish First Division.
Girona, the first in Second
With regard to the second Division, the Smart League, Girona FC received the most money for this concept (20.6 million) followed by Rayo Vallecano (20 million). Ponferradina (5.7 million) is the entity in the silver category that has received the least money for television rights.
The difference between the clubs in both categories is evident, although it is also clear that the impact of the First Division is infinitely greater internationally, and especially of the ‘big’ clubs. Therefore, although the difference in the distribution was partially corrected, Barça, Real Madrid and Atlético, maintain a figure much higher than the rest since they are the teams that raise the competition’s cache when negotiating contracts with television operators .
