Barbie Movie Dominates Box Office, Breaking Records in First Week

The movie “Barbie”, produced by “Warner Brothers”, topped the box office in the United States of America during the weekend, raking in 155 million dollars, according to estimates showed the day before yesterday.

As for the movie “Oppenheimer”, produced by “Universal”, and it was in its first week of showing in American theaters, it came in second place, achieving $ 80.5 million, almost half of the revenues achieved by “Barbie”.

Written by expert David A. Gross, “The Barbie movie broke records. No comedy movie recorded in the first week, showing more than $85.9 million.”

The National Association of Cinema Owners estimates that around 200,000 people are believed to have bought tickets for both films.

The simultaneous showing of the two major films was the inspiration for a wave of jokes and comments on social networks, while a group of derivative products expressing this trend emerged, dubbed “Barpenheimer”, which mixes the titles of the two films. And “Sound of Freedom”, an action thriller produced by “Santa Fe Films” and “Angel Studios”, came in third place with revenues of $20.14 million.

The seventh film in the “Mission Impossible” series, which was leading the rankings last week, fell to fourth place. Paramount’s “Mission Impossible – Dead Reigning Part One,” the latest in the series starring Tom Cruise, grossed $19.5 million.
