The film Barbie has broken another record. This year’s hit film has been nominated eighteen times for the Critics Choice Awards. That is the largest number of nominations ever for the American film awards, which have been awarded since 1995.
The film, directed by Greta Gerwig, has a chance in categories such as best film, best actress, best supporting actor, best director and best costumes. Three different songs also have a chance to win the prize for the best song.
The previous record was fourteen. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) in The Shape of Water (2017) arrived at that number of nominations. Other major contenders at this year’s film awards ceremony Oppenheimer in Poor Thingsboth with thirteen nominations.
The winners of the Critics Choice Awards will be announced on January 14. American actress and comedian Chelsea Handler presents the evening.
