Barbie is the highest grossing movie of the year so far in Britain and Ireland, new figures show.
The successful comedy, which stars Margot Robbie as the world-famous doll Barbie, grossed 67.5 million pounds ($85.9 million) in its first three weeks of release, outperforming “The Super Mario Bros.”, which fell to second place with 54.6. million pounds sterling, according to the British news agency (BA Media).
Barbie’s huge box office success appears to overtake last year’s biggest hit, “Top Gun: Maverick”, which grossed 83.7 million pounds.
