“Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” were this summer’s cinema favourites. The big films also walk away with the most Golden Globe nominations.

The list of nominees was announced on Monday.
“Barbie” runs away with a total of nine nominations, while “Oppenheimer” has been nominated eight times.
The two films both premiered on July 21 this summer.
This combined with the two films’ very different profiles led to the cultural phenomenon that was named Barbenheimer.
“Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan is about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb.
The film, which has Norwegian Trond Fausa Aurvåg in the cast, is nominated for best drama film, among other things.

Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” is also nominated for best drama.
It depicts how the discovery of oil on the Osage tribe’s reservation in the United States in the 1920s leads to a series of murders – and to the founding of the FBI. Lily Gladstone, who plays one of the main roles, is nominated for best actress.
So is “Barbie” actress Margot Robbie, who has also produced the blockbuster.
The HBO series “Succession” has several nominations, including lead actor Brian Cox and Kieran Culkin. Pedro Pascal is nominated for his role in “The Last of Us”.
It is the 81st time the awards have been handed out, and the award ceremony itself takes place in Beverly Hills in the USA on 7 January.
