Barbara Sarafian’s ex-husband, accused of hacking the actress as an offshoot of their divorce, has been acquitted. The Ghent criminal court decided this on Monday.

The marriage of the Ghent entrepreneur Yves De Moor and Sarafian ended in a fighting divorce after 15 months. De Moor was accused by his ex of stalking, assault and battery, and threats, but he was accused of that excluded from prosecution. He only had to answer in court for the charge of hacking.
According to Sarafian’s lawyer, her ex-husband had unlawfully accessed social media credentials in the actress’s name. Before the relationship, Sarafian had no social media accounts, but De Moor convinced her to create it together. De Moor stated that he withheld the passwords for a while as a leverage in the fighting divorce, but that he quickly recognized his mistake and gave them back. The court acquitted the man on Monday. The civil party can still appeal against the judgment.
