TVP’s decision to end cooperation with Kurdej-Satan is the result of the actress’s recent statement on Instagram. Referring to the situation of emigrants on the Polish-Belarusian border, she called Border Guard officers “machines without a brain, without a heart, blindly following orders” and “murderers”.
These words outraged not only the head of TVP, but also customers of the Play mobile telephone network. In the comments under the posts on the company’s official instagram profile, many of them are demanding the termination of the contract with Kurdej-Satan, who plays in the ads of this network. Regardless of the offer the entry concerns, most of the comments concern the vulgar Kurdej-Satan statement; There were also announcements of a consumer boycott.
However, it seems that the vision of losing several dozen or several hundred customers is not terrifying for Play. The network has already distanced itself from the actress’s “personal views” earlier in a special statement, but it does not intend to break the contract with her.
“As part of the cooperation with Play, Ms Barbara Kurdej-Szatan plays the role entrusted to her in advertising, while her views expressed by her on private profiles in social media can in no way be equated with the company’s position. Play serves over 15 million customers for whom provides the highest quality telecommunications services. In our communication, we make sure that the language used expresses respect “- wrote Ewa Sankowska-Sieniek from the PLAY Press Office in response to questions about how Play will react to the voices and requests of outraged customers.
Barbara Kurdej-Satan has already apologized for her words in one of the posts. “I cannot look at suffering, children in particular. I do not accept such a world and I will never accept it. My emotions, when I watch this video, will not change … but I apologize for the inappropriate language and curses” – she wrote. She also issued a statement in which she stressed that she “respects the hard work of the uniformed services” and “appreciates their efforts to ensure our safety.” She also apologized to the employees of the Border Guard.
Losing a job on TVP is not the only problem for Barbara Kurdej-Satan. On November 8, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw initiated an investigation into the actress’s insulting of Border Guard officers performing official duties on the Polish-Belarusian border.
