With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, Mediaset has decided to shuffle the cards on the table: there are many news in the winter schedule, which sees the absence of one of the great protagonists of Italian TV. We are talking about Barbara D’Urso, who also loses his show Afternoon Five. Let’s find out who will take his place.
Barbara D’Urso, Afternoon Five on a break
In the last period there has been a lot of talk about the professional future of Barbara D’Urso, which has never appeared so poised as in this moment. The reason? The approach of the Christmas holidays and the usual change of schedule. Even this year, Afternoon Five takes a break of a few weeks, and the presenter will therefore be able to indulge in some well-deserved rest after a rather intense season. In its place, comes a new format that more seems to embody the renewed editorial line that had been announced for some time by Piersilvio Berlusconi.
It is about Afternoon Five News, a space dedicated to the study of topical issues. To lead it is Simona Branchetti, one of the most beloved Mediaset journalists. The show kicks off on Monday, December 20, 2021, just in time for the Christmas holidays, and will run for a long time. As anticipated, this new program better responds to the needs the network has decided to refer to: more space for news and current events, with industry-savvy journalists, cutting off a large chunk of entertainment. The broadcaster’s turning point has already begun in recent months, with the farewell to some top broadcasts. But apparently it’s not over yet.
This novelty has in fact also involved Federica Panicucci. The presenter of Morning Five, also during the Christmas break, was replaced by her colleague Francesco Vecchi. Many rumors have circulated about him, and there was even talk of a possible farewell to Mediaset. It was Panicucci itself a deny everything, with a short social message that leaves little room for doubts: “As for Morning Five, I’ll be back on January 10th “. A lapidary statement, yet comprehensive for all fans of the presenter.
When is Barbara D’Urso back?
The situation appears to be quite different for Barbara D’Urso. Her Christmas holidays will last longer, from what we learn from the press release issued by the broadcaster: her return is only scheduled for Monday 17 January 2022. The presenter can take advantage of this precious additional week of holidays for devote yourself to other projects. In fact, it seems, at least from the clues that she herself continues to launch on Instagram, that there is something boiling in the pot. In fact, his television schedules have drastically reduced since this year.
Barbara has already lost Domenica Live e Live – It’s not D’Urso, its Sunday shows, again for Mediaset’s need to cut the infotainment sector and focus more on information. However, the public hopes for a return of the presenter, even in different formats. For example, there was talk of his possible involvement in a new edition of The mole, a long time off-screen show. It still is though all to see.
