The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the results of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVII today on their official website allindiabarexamination.com. To access the results, candidates must enter their login details that were provided during registration for AIBE-XVII. The result was declared shortly after an advocate approached the Supreme Court claiming that the delay in the declaration of results was jeopardizing her right to practice as an advocate and affecting her livelihood. The BCI successfully conducted the examination on February 5th, 2023, with 1,71,402 advocates appearing for the exam. The exam was conducted by paper and pen mode across 53 cities and 261 centers with technology-enabled monitoring and confidentiality processes to ensure fair exam practice and prevent impersonation. The BCI released a provisional answer key on the day of the examination, and the final answer key was released on April 20th, 2023. This delay led to widespread concern amongst candidates, and the petitioner claims that the right to livelihood is one of the facets of the right to life guaranteed under article 21 of the Constitution of India.
