Himchan, a member of the group BAP, was put on trial for the second charge of indecent assault.
On the morning of the 17th, Himchan’s lawyer said at the second trial of the second indecent assault case held at the hearing of the Seoul Western District Court Criminal 6 alone (Chief Judge Kim Yu-mi), “The case (the third indecent assault) that is being investigated separately was sent to the prosecution in early April. It has been identified,” he said, requesting that the two cases be merged if the case is prosecuted.
On this day, Himchan entered the courtroom with a calm expression wearing a blue prison uniform. He remained silent after bowing, only opening his mouth when talking to his lawyer. He did not comment on the incident.
Himchan was accused of committing indecent assault on a total of three occasions. Earlier, in July 2018, he was sentenced to prison and arrested in court for forcibly molesting a woman in her 20s at a pension in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.
In April of last year, he was sued again for indecent assault, including grabbing the waist of two women at a restaurant in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. He has settled with one of the victims, but is in the process of resolving with the other. It is known that the settlement was slow because the victim was a foreigner. In addition, the third case of indecent assault, which the lawyer mentioned that day, has been handed over to the prosecution in early April.
The next trial is scheduled for July 5th.
