Banyan Tree’s Global Expansion: 100 Resorts and Beyond
Banyan Tree Group is making waves in the luxury hospitality industry, announcing a notable expansion that includes the opening of its 100th resort in Singapore this April. This milestone marks a pivotal moment for the company, signaling its continued growth and global reach.
The expansion isn’t limited to Singapore. Banyan Tree is also setting its sights on new, exciting destinations, including Tanzania and the Dominican Republic.This year alone, the group plans to unveil 15 new hotels and resorts, along with five branded residential developments, substantially bolstering its already extraordinary portfolio.
Among the highly anticipated openings are the Mandai Rainforest Resort in Singapore’s Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a nature-immersive experience; Ubuyu, a Banyan Tree Escape in Tanzania’s Ruaha National park; and the group’s first standalone Bangkok growth, a multifaceted project encompassing hotels, restaurants, a spa, and vibrant nightlife. further expansion in Asia includes new properties in Zhuhai, Busan, Jeju, Bangkok, and Cebu. The Caribbean will also welcome Cassia Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Banyan Tree’s reach extends beyond physical locations. Starting in 2025, travelers on Emirates and EVA Air will have access to Banyan Tree Gallery products, expanding the brand’s retail presence and making its luxurious offerings even more accessible.
The past year has been equally impressive, with the addition of 18 new hotels and resorts to the Banyan Tree family, including six in Japan and South Korea, and eight in China. The successful launch of Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto marked a significant milestone for the brand’s expansion into Japan. The company also celebrated several anniversaries with global events and initiatives.
Sustainability remains a core value for Banyan Tree. The company’s “Embracing the Environment, Empowering Peopel” ethos guides its commitment to environmental and social duty. This commitment is evident in initiatives like the Coral Reef Restoration Project on Hainan Island and a pioneering coral larval restoration method in the Maldives.The Rewilding Banyan Fund will further support habitat restoration, including the creation of a bee-pleasant forest on Bintan Island, Indonesia.
Banyan Tree is also integrating its “8 Pillars of Wellbeing” into guest experiences, introducing new retreats, collaborating with visiting wellness practitioners, and developing new spa brands throughout 2025.
