Banten Police Appeals to Travelers to Avoid JLS for Motorbike Trips to Ciwandan Port

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Banten Regional Police appealed to travelers who use motorbikes not to go through the Cilegon South Ring Road (JLS) if they want to go to Ciwandan Port. This JLS is considered to be prone to accidents because many trucks pass it.

“The two-wheeled vehicles will enter the city later, the JLS is for trucks. The problem is that the crowds of these two-wheeled vehicles run into trucks, it is prone to accidents,” said the Banten Police Traffic Director, Kombes Firman Darmansyah, quoted from the NTMC Polri website today, Thursday, April 13, 2023 .

The government itself has indeed issued an appeal for travelers not to use motorbikes. This is because the use of motorbikes for going home is considered dangerous for safety and inconvenient for long journeys.

“One thing that must be considered is that road trips are tiring, let alone using a motorcycle. Therefore, it is advisable not to use a motorbike when going home,” said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

The government has also banned motorbike travelers heading to Sumatra from crossing through the Port of Merak. Instead, these motorbike travelers will be diverted to Ciwandan Port as a crossing location to Sumatra.

To go to Ciwandan Harbor, motorbikes from the direction of Jakarta will be directed through the Cilegon City protocol route. From the PCI Intersection, travelers will be directed to enter the Cilegon protocol road.

Arriving at the Simpang Tiga Cilegon, drivers are directed to the left lane, namely Cilegon-Anyer to go to Ciwandan Harbor.
