Denmark and France have each launched their own bans. None of them are examples to follow. Both are contrary to liberal values.
The Danish government will ban the burning of objects of importance to religious communities. It is the noise after the burning of the Koran that has triggered it. Denmark’s foreign minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, calls this kind of “meaningless taunts”.
