Banksy’s ‘zoo’ is getting bigger: he confirmed the authorship of two new graffiti in London | A cat and two pelicans

British artist Banksy confirmed Saturday that he is the author of a sixth graffiti in the capital of England, part of a series of animal-themed works he has made public throughout the week. The London Zoo is now complete with the silhouette of a black cat. On Friday, he announced other illustrations featuring pelicans.

The mysterious graffiti artist posted a photo on his Instagram account today, without any caption, showing the feline stretching its spine on a wall in the Cricklewood neighbourhood, northwest of London. (Image: Instagram @banksy)

The day before, he announced another graffiti of two silhouettes of pelicans “fishing” a pair of fish, located in the Walthamstow neighborhood, on a fast food restaurant, Bonners Fish Bar.

Earlier, the zoo series featured a howling wolf inside a satellite dish in Peckham, south-east London, which was stolen an hour after it was posted on social media on Thursday.

A group of hooded men climbed onto the roof of the premises using a ladder, dismantled the satellite dish and ran off down the avenue with the Banksy creation before the astonished gaze of the spectators.

The “animal” series began on Monday in the Kew Green neighbourhood of Richmond, southwest of the capital, with a goat on top of a ledge from which several rocks are falling while a real surveillance camera is pointed at it.

This first work was followed by two elephants peering through a window in Chelsea and then three monkeys hanging from a bridge at an underground station near Brick Lane Market.

Banksy is known for raising awareness of social, political and environmental issues through his street art in various parts of the world and his works are highly sought after, reaching tens of millions of euros at auctions.
