The Amsterdam restaurant Le Garage has been declared bankrupt, reports NH News. More than thirty years ago, the establishment opened its doors under the leadership of TV chef Joop Braakhekke, who passed away in 2016.
Although Le Garage’s website states that the business is closed for vacation, the bankruptcy register has a different message: the restaurant is bankrupt.

Curator Karin van Boekel is also unable to provide any clarity about it and says against it Quote that they are “still in the process of identifying the causes and will always look at possibilities for a restart”.
Since its opening in 1990, Le Garage has been a place to see and be seen and, according to the website visited by many famous Dutch and world citizens.
Founder Joop Braakhekke died on December 8, 2016 from pancreatic cancer. Erwin Walthaus then took over the business. According to Quote, he has filed for bankruptcy.
