Two people in a car threw a large number of banknotes out of their car on the A16 near Prinsenbeek. They did so on Monday while being chased by the police. The police gave chase because the driver did not want to stop for a check.
The police had lost sight of the car, but a little further on the emergency lane they saw a large cloud of dust and splashing gravel. There, a large number of banknotes fluttered over the highway. Officers collected the money.
Two suspects
In the vicinity of Zevenbergschen Hoek, the police arrested the car and arrested the two occupants as suspects. They found another package with 24,000 euros in cash.
They are looking for witnesses who saw around 3:30 on Monday afternoon that banknotes were scattered.
